Not to say everyone is perfect, but here on the Northeast coast of the Dominican Republic in Sosua, Encuentro, and Cabarete, you will find people enjoying their life. It’s safe and lovely no matter where you go. Even at the supermarket, they bag your groceries (when was the last time that happened?) Moreover, they take your groceries to your car or taxi with a big smile. A tip of 100 pesos (2 dollars) makes them smile even more.

I have been there many times with groups and never get tired of it. 20 minutes from Cabarete. Furthermore, they donate most of the fees to care for the rescued monkeys (yes there is such a thing known as animal trafficking.) And they also donate to the Eco Community of Local Families. It’s not hard to find a great restaurant in Cabarete, Dominican Republic

… but to find a GREAT sushi restaurant in Cabarete, Dominican Republic, welcome to Yamazoto. One of my favorites. Small with a small menu but everything is VERY special.
